Royal College of Physicians

Overview

The Royal College of Physicians new £ 35 Million Northern Headquarters is being built by Morgan Sindall in partnership with Liverpool City Council in the Paddington Village scheme (Knowledge Quarter) in Liverpool. The building will be known as “ The Spine “ taking its name from a striking staircase on its north elevation that resembles the human vertebrae.

Services Provided

The building will be one of the healthiest workspaces for mental and physical wellbeing in the UK and amongst the first to achieve the international “ WELL “ Standard of modern building design.

The spine will feature a timber curtain wall designed to re-connect people with nature and a unique ceramic frit façade, complete with 23 Million unique Voronoi polygons that mimic human skin and reflect to the local environment to control noise and glare.

We have recently completed this project delivering Acoustic and Thermal Insulation along with Electrical Trace Heating to the Mechanical Services at this project working alongside Morgan Sindall, ARUP and AHR Architects and Liverpool City Council.
